![]() ![]() If this is a good thing or bad thing is your own personal and perfectly valid opinion. In a community post on Steam, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 made a surprising announcement about the release date for the full version of the game, which has been in Early Access since 2020. In my opinion Larian will prove that cRPG can be as popular are aRPG - indeed I personally think that it will challenge The Witcher 3 in terms of popularity and copies sold. This does not mean that it will be great, or you should like if you don't. Larian is in a total different league, and will likely set the bar for the whole cRPG genre. Tactical Adventure did wonders with a very limited budget. I love Solasta and very happy with what they did, but comparing the two is not fair, not against BG 3, but Solasta. As a finished game, Solasta, due to budget issues, still don't have and will never have many very important features, such as multiplayer and races (yes, I am aware and played the Community Expansion mod). But of course I am a Larian fanatic, so my view is very biased.įly and Paladin were in Solasta as a finished game. I want to think they they learned from DOS 2 and this is why it taking over 1 year of testing (as far as we know they started in July this year to recruit testers outside the studios), so I am hoping that in August we will see a very polished game. Larian said many times, including in the recent Panel from Hell, that the game is completed and it is getting tested in its entirety. And yet everywhere you find some people claiming it is impossible they will have a polished game by August since they have only Act I done. ![]() We still don't have even the entire Act I, because Swen said that upon release even people who played the EA so much (like me, LOL) will find new things. Not only they said so many times, but they also did the same for DOS 1/2. ![]() It was only going to be Act I in Early Access. Written in case someone here is not following BG3 as closely as I do.
